In the years before California became a state most of the Napa Valley was divided into Mexican land grants know as Ranchos. Phoenix has decided to resurrect the name of the Rancho, Rancho Napa, that the Phoenix winery is situated upon. The grant of Rancho Napa stretched north from the city of Napa to Yountville. This Napa Valley Meritage, 59% Cabernet Franc, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, spent 18 months in American and French oak casks and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
