Phoenix Napa Cabernet franc

Another truly "boutique" wine from my friend, Aaron Bader at Phoenix. 78.6% Cabernet Franc, 21.4% Cabernet Sauvignon. The total production was 276 cases. Cabernet franc is the most fragrant and 'floral' of the family and this wine exhibits the grapes range of beautiful aromas, supported by ample fruit and tannin, as we have come to expect from Aaron's expertise. At this point the 1998 Napa Valley Cabernet Franc is showing a complex aroma profile with cedar, earth, cola, cherry, plum and hints of vanilla with exposure to air. It is a wine more concerned with elegance than with brute extract. PCF98 PCF98
