Poggioaicelli Vernaccia Di San Gimignano
Italy - Italian Wines
The towered town of San Gimignano is a medieval tourist stop which was once called the "Manhattan of Tuscany." The wine which is produced from the grape of the same name has been grown for hundreds of years and evolved into a beautiful white wine of pale golden color, fresh, smooth, dry and agreeably rounded. It is generally best consummed within the first two years and is an elegant table wine. Tenuta Torciano produces an excellent Vernaccia for us with rich, complex depth of flavor far beyond most dry whites produced anywhere in Italy. Just a hint of ripe citrus, some bitter almond and a mildly buttery texture. POGW03 POGW03
